The part AI cannot settle for me
It is easy to imagine building with AI as a short conversation followed by a finished app. Describe an idea, wait a little, and there it is. The first working screen can make that possibility feel very close.
But a screen leaves some questions unanswered. Who will use it? What are they trying to finish? Which decisions should the tool leave to them? AI can help me explore those questions, but it cannot decide on whose behalf I am building.
A smaller description
For My Next Step, “help people with employment” is too broad to guide a screen. A more useful starting point is someone who has helped at an event but does not know how to explain what they contributed. The tool can help them recall the details and decide what they want to say.
That description gives a feature something to answer to. Does another menu help this person? Does a polished paragraph still sound like their experience? What can wait until the first journey works?
Something to write before asking
Write three plain sentences: this is for someone who…; they are trying to…; after using it, they should be able to…. Add one thing the tool should leave alone. You do not need a long specification to notice a missing purpose.
The description can change as you learn. I would rather have a small purpose I can revisit than a large promise that every new feature appears to fulfil.
